Vaughan-Bassett Furniture Company is based in Galax, Virginia and manufactures bedroom furniture. The company started in 1919 and employs approximately 700 people in Virginia and North Carolina. The company is very proud that they produce 100% of their furniture in the USA. Indeed, Vaughan-Bassett is now the largest manufacturer of wooden adult bedroom furniture in the United States.
Most of the furniture they manufacture consists of wood solids and wood veneers grown and harvested near their plants in the Southeast. Woods used include: pine, oak, maple, cherry, ash, poplar, birch, and beech. Vaughan-Bassett’s number one priority is ensuring their customers receive top notch service as well as quality furniture at good prices.
The company replaces every tree used to make their products. Vaughan-Bassett has contributed 1.5 million tree seedlings since 2007 to the Virginia Department of Forestry. In addition, over 99 percent of their lumber comes from within 500 miles of their factories (with 80 percent from within 200 miles), helping reduce the carbon footprint related to transporting raw materials.
